Date: Tuesday, March 4, 2025
Time: 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM (Session 1 of 2)
Size: Limited to 25 participants per session
Instructors: Gary Beauvais and Ian Abernethy (WYNDD, UW)
Description: The Data Explorer application (https://wyndd.org/portal/login) created and maintained by the Wyoming Natural Diversity Database (WYNDD; University of Wyoming) provides users fast and remote access to data and information products maintained by WYNDD, including resident species lists and status ranks, maps of documented field observations, species’ range and predicted distribution maps, Wyoming-specific field guide accounts, and research reports. Almost all datasets and information products are downloadable for further analysis on local systems, as needed. Data Explorer was launched in 2023 and immediately began to receive heavy use from individuals and organizations across the natural resource interest spectrum. Currently there are > 800 “pro” level users of the application, and it has become a central tool for managers of wildlife and other natural resources in Wyoming and the region. This workshop will be a guided demonstration of the application and its capabilities, followed by attendee-led Q&A and further system demonstration based on attendee-suggested queries.
There will be two sessions of this program, each with the same content and format.
THIS IS A HALF-DAY (AM) WORKSHOP AND CAN, THEREFORE, NOT BE COMBINED WITH ANY OTHER AM OR FULL-DAY WORKSHOPS
